Western Abenaki - The Western Abenaki (also Abenaki, Wabanaki), meaning people of the dawn, are a tribe of Native Americans/First Nations belonging to the Algonquian peoples of northeastern North America. They should not be confused with the neighboring Eastern Abenaki.
