Clerical error - A clerical error is an error on part of an office worker, often a secretary or personal assistant. It is a phrase which can also be used as an excuse to deflect blame away from specific individuals, such as high powered executives, and instead redirect it to the more anonymous, less identifiable, less punishable, and certainly less embarassable clerical staff.
Clerical collar - A Clerical collar is an item of clerical clothing. It is a detachable collar that buttons onto a clergy shirt, being fastened by two metal studs, one attached at the front and one at the back to hold the collar to the shirt.
Clerical marriage - Clerical marriage is the practice, followed in most Protestant churches, of allowing clergy to marry and have a family. This is in opposition to the doctrine of clerical celibacy currently followed in the Roman Catholic Church, where priests are not allowed to marry, on the principle that this leaves them free to devote their lives fully to the service of the Church and God.
