Occultation - An occultation is an astronomical event that occurs when one celestial object is hidden by another celestial object that passes between it and the observer. Compared to astronomical transits and eclipses, an occultation is said to occur when the nearer object appears larger and completely hides the more distant object.

Accommodation reflex - The accommodation reflex is a reflex action of the eye, in response to focusing on a near object, then looking at distant object (and vice versa). It is dependent on cranial nerve II (afferent limb of reflex), higher centres and cranial nerve III.

Action at a distance (physics) - In physics, action at a distance is the interaction of two objects which are separated in space with no known mediator of the interaction. This term was used most often with early theories of gravity and electromagnetism to describe how an object could "know" the mass (in the case of gravity) or charge (in electromagnetism) of another distant object.

Gravitational lens - A gravitational lens is formed when the light from a very distant, bright source (such as a quasar) is "bent" around a massive object (such as a massive galaxy) between the source object and the observer.
