Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence - Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence written in 1980, was an essay published in Adrienne Rich's 1986 book Blood, Bread, and Poetry. In it, Rich emphasizes that heterosexuality is a violent political institution making way for "male right of physical, economical, and emotional access", over women.
