Jakob Ceporin - Jakob Ceporin (1499-1525), Swiss humanist. Born Jakob Wiesendanger (Ceporin is a close Greek translation of the original Swiss surname -from keporós, "garden-custodian," "garden-overseer") in the town of Dinhard, Ceporin was the son of a wealthy farmer.
