History of Ottoman Egypt - Egypt was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1517. Egypt was always a difficult province for the Ottoman Sultans to control.
Gedik Ahmet Pasha - Gedik Ahmet Pasha was a successful Ottoman army commander, admiral and state man during the reign of Ottoman Sultans Mehmed the Conqueror (March 30, 1432 – May 3, 1481) and Beyazid II (1447-1512).
