Visual impairment - Visual impairment is the functional loss of vision. According to the National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities, "the terms partially sighted, low vision, legally blind, and totally blind are used in the educational context to describe students with visual impairments.

The disorder is characterized by leakage of fluid in the central macula, which results in blurred or distorted vision (metamorphopsia).

Machine vision - Machine vision (MV) is the application of computer vision to industry and manufacturing. Whereas computer vision is mainly focused on machine-based image processing, machine vision most often requires also digital input/output devices and computer networks to control other manufacturing equipment such as robotic arms.
