Strombolian activity - In vulcanology, Strombolian activity or Strombolian eruptions are volcanic eruptions characterised by explosive, noisy, and forceful outbursts from a single vent or crater. The lava fragments generally consist of partially molten volcanic bombs that become rounded as they fly through the air, sometimes for tens or hundreds of metres.
